Member Good News Story - Moore & Moore Textiles!!

Exhibiting at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF) for the first time in August 2009, Moore and Moore Textiles discovered a completely new platform for their collection of luxury faux fur home and accessory ranges and were delighted by the response!

Partners Helen and Stanley Moore, both graduates from London art colleges, Goldsmiths and the Royal College of Art, set up their contemporary textile company in the heart of the English countryside. They pride themselves on the fact that everything is designed, manufactured and hand-finished in their Devon village, and were naturally very excited about taking the product lines to a new audience on the other side of the Atlantic.

Helen Moore says, “We have really found our niche in the UK market and are seen as the foremost suppliers of luxury faux fur goods to the home interiors and gift trade. We have been supplying major department stores and independent high-end retailers for several years now, and last year saw our ranges being featured in fourteen of Harrods Christmas windows. We definitely felt it was time to branch out and seek new overseas business relationships and NYIGF was perfect for this.”

Following on from a huge success at all the major UK gift fairs Moore and Moore Textiles exhibited in a shared ‘catalogue and sample’ booth situated within the British Pavilion at NYIGF, and were delighted to be approached by both Barneys and Bloomingdale’s, as well as receiving orders from companies as diverse as BedHead Pajamas and the Alex Roldan Salon in Hollywood.

The popularity of Moore and Moore Textiles can be explained in one simple word...quality. One of the questions most frequently asked is “is it real?”. The fur is so soft that you would be forgiven for thinking it is! From the moment of inspiration and the first cut of the scissors to the satisfaction of seeing the finished article and the sealing of the dispatch box, they believe that attention to detail is paramount. Every item is made in-house from the softest most luxurious faux fur and encompasses items as diverse as giant king-size bed throws to high fashion ruffle scarves and quirky slipper boots.

Customers are able to order one-off bespoke items and to top up their supply throughout the season. As everything is made in-house, Moore and Moore can be flexible and manufacture exclusive ranges and fulfil a customer’s special requirements.

Looking into the future Moore and Moore believe that there will be even greater interest in their fabulous faux fur: after all, the quality rivals that of real fur but without the cruelty issue. Also, their products are highly functional, as well as beautiful, and provide a brilliant solution to energy conservation – why not wrap yourself in luxurious faux fur and turn down the central heating!
Moore and Moore Textiles really is a company for the 21st century!

Needless to say, Moore and Moore have re-booked to show in the British Pavilion at NYIGF in January…this time in a full-sized booth
